New features of Moodle 2.9

I can't believe it has been 6 months since Moodle 2.8 was released, but it is. Moodle 2.9 versionHow do I know? I know because Moodle 2.9 has just been released today bringing in some great new features and enhancements. There are some really notable ones such as;

  • Users now have a new profile page that is a lot better organised than previous versions, separate preferences page and, the best one in my opinion, a single grades page showing the grades from all their courses.
  • Images can now be added to the 'Atto editor' by dragging and dropping
  • In Quizzes, you can now add questions that are dependent on other questions, have clearly labelled sections and can have questions randomly shuffled in those sections
  • The messaging interface has been redesigned so that it is now a pop-up that disappears once users have sent their messages

The main new features can be viewed in the video below. We will be adding further blog posts over the coming weeks to introduce some of the other new features to our blog readers, offering tips on situations where they may be used.

For those requiring onsite bespoke training, these new features can be included into our future training programmes. For further information please see our Moodle onsite training page.
