After being a fairly long time Twitter sceptic (hello, Dale) I must confess that I'm rather warming to it.
 
We set up the howtomoodle account as something of an experiment following the 09 UK MoodleMoot where it seemed like everyone and their dog was tweeting about something or other. I arrived late for Martin Dougiamas' key note and stood at the back of the room observing the pounding of keyboards as members of the assembled throng blasted out their take on what was upcoming in Moodle 2.0. (Are people really listening when they are in the fury of their transcription?)
 
Back to Twitter, it's proving to be a fun thing. I can get news out there easily and keep an eye on those I'm following. I'm not following a lot of other accounts but the newsy ones can drown out those that are less active.
 
I'm only following a few folk with SMS messages to my mobile. I was awoken a week or so ago by a rash of early morning text messages. This was Martin commenting on sessions at a conference in Australia. Top tip: Set the time settings for devices!
 
It's good to meet up with other at Twitter too. My Moodle friend Alicia Wyatt caught up with me earlier today.
 
Will Twitter endure. I don't know. And more importantly, I don't care. It's useful and fun at the moment and that will do.
