We had a great Moodle get-together at our London seminar last Tuesday evening. We had over 50 delegates from a range of organisations, including charities, businesses and public sector corporations, and with various Moodle knowledge and experiences – from those new to Moodle through to those with established Moodle sites looking to learn more and talk Moodle.
Our first talk, given by Katie Osmand, Director and Head of Academics, The Design Ecademy, covered her experiences of using Moodle, from her pre-Moodle experiences and issues encountered before adopting the e-learning platform, through to her steps implementing Moodle within her organisation and the benefits she has seen as a result, 12 months on.
The second presentation came from HowToMoodle’s director, Ray Lawrence, who highlighted the new and developed features that are available in the latest version - Moodle 2.4, which is due for release imminently. Ray covered a range of features in his 40 minute presentation, including assignment enhancements, integration of external calendars, workshop module enhancements and cohort enrolment improvements.
The seminar also allowed time for delegates to network and share their experiences among the group, which was greatly received by all.
Feedback from the event included;
“Great to see the enthusiasm for Moodle in lots of different settings”,
"Another great "How To Moodle" event”.
Thanks to all who came along to make it a great success.
