We are delighted to present our latest theme of the month, a theme created for the UK's largest, dedicated utility services provider, Morrison Utility Services, a part of M Group Services.
The company works with clients in the electricity, gas, water and telecoms sectors, and invests heavily in customer service training and development programmes to deliver a first-class customer experience.
This month we spoke to Tony Wilson, Senior Divisional IT Trainer at Morrison Utility Services, about the Brand It theme we created for their Moodle site.
What were the reasons you decided to have a theme created for your Moodle site?
Tony: "We had dabbled with Moodle in the past. At the time we had a basic looking site with a simple white background. As our organisation has continued to grow, the timing was right to develop something aligned to our evolving brand and that mirrored the look and feel of our corporate website."
What was your feature criteria for the new design?
Tony: "We needed the theme to match the look and feel of our website. Also, a key requirement from the beginning was the need for a multi-tenancy design. Over the last two years, our parent company M Group Services has expanded both organically and through the acquisition of new businesses operating in new sectors and we needed our users across the Group to be able to log on and arrive at the appropriate landing page for their organisation.
Each subsidiary within the Group now features its own specific colour and branding. It's essentially the same site but the identity and the look and feel is refined appropriately. This has been very important as the Group has continued to grow. We've now got five different user views for our various subsidiaries."
The HowToMoodle design team worked with Morrison Utility Services to create a design that would fit well with the company's main website. The Multi-T feature was included, allowing the company to present relevant front page content and navigation to their different groups of users.
What has been the response by your learners and colleagues to the Moodle site so far?
Tony: "The response has been very positive. The feedback received is that it has a strong style and an attractive look and feel. We have launched the site recently so look forward to more feedback in the coming months."
Commenting on the theme service from HowToMoodle Tony added;
"It's been very good so far. Apart from a few minor aspects, our brief was delivered as expected."
